So, the day I was laid off from work I sat on the couch for about 30 minutes and zoned out. Then, I got my ass up and cleaned the kitchen. After that, I made cinnamon rolls. From scratch. Nick came home and noticed the clean apartment, and the yummy smells coming from the oven, and made the announcement that it would be alright if I stayed unemployed for a while.
I thought about it, but the pajamas, red wine and CSI at noon is starting to get old already. That, and one of Nick's Christmas gifts was actually a picture of something that we need to go shopping for, so I guess I need to replenish my bank account soon.
Yesterday I spent the afternoon updating my resume and cover letter, and looking over the job listings on Craigslist. I responded to about 6 posts, and within 30 minutes had already gotten a call. Remember that red wine at noon? I let the call go to voicemail, and will be calling back today. I also received an email from another prospective employer, but they want to pay less than what I made at the non profit - less than what I've been making for the last 5 years. I received another email this morning from a different company, and they want to schedule an interview. I'll call them back today as well. Apparently my resume is pretty decent if people are trying to schedule meetings without even speaking to me.
Wish me luck, Kids!

Best of luck!
I was sorry to hear of your job loss, especially since I knew how much you enjoyed working there, but the first thing that occured to me was that you would turn it into an opportunity. Just know you'll obtain employment somewhere just right for you! :)
